Somewhat disappointing, Indi, that you express the wish for someone else's painful death. No need to remind you of the Mahakaraniyasutta - a moral guiding principle that I know you are familiar with - or to remind you of the many pieces here on Medium in which you have written with warmth and empathy deserving of the loving kindness of your Buddhist upbringing and background. I suppose that if even Angulimala, a serial killer, was worthy of restoration in humanity, than anybody is.

Even if you see in EII the symbol of all the evils that you name - you should remember that as a human being she was merely born into a family, not of her own choice, and was pushed into a role of respresenting an instituation that she herself was absolutely powerless to change.

Ye keci pāṇabhūt' atthi

tasā vā thāvarā vā anavasesā

Dīgha vā ye mahantā vā

majjhimā rassakā aṇukathūlā

Diṭṭhā vā ye vā addiṭṭhā

ye ca dūre vasanti avidūre

Bhūtā vā sambhavesī vā

sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā

Na paro paraṃ nikubbetha

nâtimaññetha katthacinaṃ kañci

Vyārosanā paṭighasaññā

nāññamaññassa dukkham iccheyya
